The Nagoya Planetarium

Nagoya is home to the WORLD’S LARGEST PLANETARIUM! This is cool mostly because it looks like something from War of the Worlds.

As you can see, the place was packed. Apparently on weekends you have to get there about an hour before it opens in order to even get tickets for the show that day. Because of this, George and I did not get tickets to see the planetarium show, but we got to go through the museum for half price, which was still pretty cool.

One of those swinging clocks things that uses the rotation of the earth or something. I still don’t get it. The Japanese explanation didn’t help, but if you look close you can see me:)

From the inside looking out. There’s the planetarium ticket mosh pit.

Some dinosaurs. Typical museum stuff.

Ok this was cool. They had a machine that would make a tornado IN the building. it was cool. The cheesy techno version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and guy dressed as a ringleader was a little much for me though.

It wasn’t boring at all!

Rocket.

You could spend all day in the museum if you wanted to. There were tons of screaming kids since we came on a holiday. I won’t make that mistake twice.

I’ll write again when I actually see the show!
