Valentine’s Day Love

I haven’t written a post in over a month! I’m sorry to those that have been looking for updates. I’m going to try to write once a day until I get caught up. Here’s a few pictures from February 14, which was Valentine’s Day in Japan. In Japan, Valentine’s Day has a Sadie Hawkins feel to it. On February 14, girls give chocolates to the men that they like. A month later on Macrh 14, the guys return the gift if they feel the same way. This can be done between friends as well. A lot of my students brought me things as gifts and here are a few of them.

These are chocolate-covered potato chips. I was skeptic at first, but they’re actually really good. Too good in fact because I pretty much ate the whole box within 24 hours.

This gift came from someone in the US! I don’t think she intended it to, but it arrived on Valentine’s Day. She gave me cinnamon toast crunch, reese’s peanut butter cups, and a photo she took and made into a postcard.

I got a lot of these from students: intricately packaged chocolates. They were good. The packaging was almost better, which is a theme I’m getting from Japan.

Anyway, the post campaign is on, get ready for the deluge as I get caught up!
