Friday I got the amazing opportunity to explore the Real Alcazar right here in Sevilla.
It’s a beautiful place. Its right next to the Cathedral, but it has high walls all around it, so its difficult to see into it without actually going inside. The best part? It’s FREE for students. That’s right, you show them a student ID and you get to experience for free what others pay 8 euros for. I’m all about that.
The Alcazar has been dated and is believed to be initially constructed in 913! Of course that was only the beginning. In subsequent years (and by years I mean centuries), the Christian, Arabs, and the Borbons did their own additions to the area. It is the oldest construction in Sevilla (to my knowledge).
